A theme floor is a community of students that self-select to live together based on a common interest. The Resident Advisor for that floor provides extensive programming and resources to the students based on the topic throughout the academic year. All freshman are welcome to request to join a theme community: Between Takes (focus on film in Maria’s Tower), Mosaic (focus on world cultures in Maria’s Tower), Green Adventures (focus on sustainability and outdoor/nature activities in Maria’s Tower), Express (focus on wellness and identity in Maria’s Tower), Honors (in both Maria’s Tower (focus on global citizenship) and 55 John Street; open only to Honors students, but Honors students are not required to live on the Honors floor), Performing Arts (55 John Street).
