What is a temporary resident visa (TRV, also known as a Visitor Visa)?
A temporary resident visa is a visa which is placed in a foreign national’s passport or travel document, allowing him to travel to Canada once or several times during the validity of the visa. The decision to admit the foreign national, however, is made by the immigration officer at the point of entry to Canada (airport or border crossing). Citizens of certain countries do not require a temporary resident visa to visit Canada.
