What is a temporary construction easement?
A temporary construction easement defines a particular area on a parcel of land that is usually adjacent to the interceptor and the permanent easement. The purpose of the temporary easement is to provide the contractor with adequate room for materials, labor, and equipment required to construct the interceptor. Temporary easements revert back to the property owners after construction is completed and the landscaping is restored. • Who will have access to the easements? The temporary and permanent easements may be accessed during construction by the Contractor (and subcontractors), CMUD, and the engineer, Woolpert. • What will occur within the permanent easement? During construction the permanent easement will be cleared of trees, shrubs, structures, debris, etc. In undeveloped/non-maintained areas (woods) stumps outside of the trench excavation may be left flush with the existing ground.
