What is a Telephone/Intercom system?
A Telephone/Intercom system manages and distributes several telephone lines and extensions throughout the house. A typical installation includes at least two multi-line telephones, several generic telephones, a door intercom and the main control unit. Separate telephone lines can be programmed to ring at various phones in the house. The family line or door phone, for example, rings on all phones, but the teen line only rings in the upstairs bedroom and the home business line rings into the basement office. The intercom feature allows for hands free communication between rooms via the phones.
