What is a “technical withdrawal” for student loan purposes, and how is it different from a formal withdrawal?
A formal withdrawal, whether initiated by the student or the institution, removes you from the course and is recorded on your student permanent record (transcript). A technical withdrawal occurs when you fail to meet the full-time requirements of the Canada Student Loan Program, and in the view of the program you have ceased to be a full-time student as of a particular date, even though TRU-OL still considers you to be enrolled full-time.
