Your initial teacher training (ITT) provider is required to provisionally register your details with the GTCE within 28 days from the start of your training programme. Once this process is completed your record will be allocated a teacher reference number (TRN). Your ITT provider is responsible for issuing you with this. You will only be able to register for the QTS skills tests if you have been given your TRN.
