     The Tasmanian devil is the largest of the carnivores, or flesh-eating marsupials. It is about 90 cm (36 in) long, including its tail, and has sharp teeth and strong jaws. The devil feeds mostly on carrion the flesh of animals that are already dead but it does also kill prey such as sheep and birds.
