What is a Sustainable Community Strategy?
Sustainable communities are places where people want to live and work, now and in the future. They meet the needs of existing and future generations, are environmentally sensitive and contribute to a high quality of life. A sustainable community is one which allows people to have a say in the way their own neighbourhood is run. They are also safe and inclusive, well planned and offer equal opportunities and good services for all. A Sustainable Community Strategy is a detailed vision of how a borough will work to deliver sustainable communities. Local Strategic Partnerships (LSPs) such as Lambeth First are responsible for developing the strategy, which responds to the views of partners and the people of the borough.
