What is a surround sound home theater system?
A surround sound home theater system decodes the channels of sound recorded in your DVD movies and plays them through multiple speakers within your room to add realism to the viewing experience. Sound will immerse you from all sides, and you’ll feel part of the action. You’ll most often hear about 5.1 surround sound systems, which have a left, middle, and right speaker in the front of the room, two rear surround speakers (left and right), and a bass module (often called a subwoofer) for deep, rich low frequency sounds.
