Your stock certificate is evidence of your ownership in a public corporation. Whenever you receive a stock certificate, it is important to review it carefully for accuracy. The information found on the front of the certificate will be the shareholder’s name, a unique certificate number, the number of shares, and date of issuance. The transfer agent, registrar, and certain company officers may also be shown on the front of the certificate. In view of the value of your stock certificates, we suggest they be kept in a safe deposit box or other secure place, since replacing the certificates can be inconvenient.
