What is a Static Caravan?
Static caravans are quite different from the bricks and mortar constructions we normally associate with dwellings as they are prefabricated units that are put together in a factory. They are then towed to to a caravan park, or any place where they are to be sited by a large flat back trailer. It is important that this kind of unit is not confused with the smaller caravans that you see being towed by cars. As the name suggests, static caravans become a permanent fixture at their final location They are excellent dwellings in their own right. Sometimes someone who has bought a plot will situate a unit there to live in while their conventional bricks and mortar house or bungalow is built. But they are most widely used as holiday homes.
