What is a State Association/CTA?

0

A State Association represents each of the seven areas in New England (Connecticut, Maine, Eastern Massachusetts, Western Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont) and promotes the game in its region. Each State Association has a volunteer Board of Directors and works together with USTA New England in promoting and developing the growth of tennis. A Community Tennis Association (CTA) is an umbrella organization that oversees tennis programs in a community. The CTA may run tournaments and offer clinics at various facilities. The CTA is a lobbying force for the community and often provides leadership, a consolidation of resources, continuity with public recreation programs and fund development. For information about forming a CTA, please contact the USTA Community Coordinator for your area.
