What is a starter fertilizer?
A starter fertilizer, such as Nature Safe s 5-6-6 is ideal for new seedling establishment, ornamental planting and color beds. It has been designed for the development of healthy roots. This homogeneous slow-release, non-burning fertilizer also contains humus which conditions the soil and increases water retention. 5-6-6 increases seeding vigor and helps keep fertilizers from leaching through the soil. It is recommended for seeding, sprigging or overseeding.
