What is a standard teachers certificate?
Most states issue a standard teaching certificate which remains active for approximately 5 years after a person has successfully completed all education requirements and has passed all the state mandated examinations. Some states now allow people who hold non-education college degrees to enter classrooms as teachers with the stipulation that all state mandated exams be passed within a certain amount of time. I am by no means an expert, but from what I understand, some school districts needed more science and math teachers at the beginning of this school year than they could locate.
