What is a Standard Retainer Account and why do I need one?
The Standard Retainer Account is not a separate account. You simply choose one of the existing retainer accounts to be the “standard” one. The Standard Retainer Account for a matter makes it more convenient to enter a retainer transaction, because you don’t need to select which retainer account to use. RTG Bills assumes you will use the Standard Retainer Account and selects that one for you. Of course, you can choose a different one if necessary. To set the Standard Retainer Account for a matter, edit the matter and click the Retainer tab. In the Retainer Accounts frame, click the Select button. Choose an account and click OK. Click Save to save the matter.
