What is a Spit Shine?
A spit shine is the final coat applied to shoes to achieve a high gloss shine. As a rule of thumb, new shoes will not generally take a spit shine well until a brush shine has been built up as a base. This usually takes no more than a few weeks to do. This will be used to polish the shoes and will not be wearable again. You will also need a polish applicator (either horse hair or foam) and shoe polish corresponding to the color of your shoes.
