What is a spin weld fitting?

0

Spin welded fittings are what is used when attaching fittings to plastic. A router and special bit is used to “spin” the fitting at such a speed and pressure that the plastic of the tank and the fitting melt together forming a water tight seal. That is why you will see melted plastic around the fitting. If there isn’t enough “melt” it may not be a good weld. At our plant they focus on the best weld possible so the welds may show more melted plastic around the fittings than other tanks. But that is how, and why, we offer a 3 year guarantee against leaks.
