What is a solution for overcrowded jails?
Hi, I don’t know if you’re in the UK or not, but I’m going to apply to that country. Firstly, any immigrant (legal or otherwise) should be shipped back to their country, no second chances – go. Secondly, rather than repeat rehab sentences or community service orders that are never carried out, we should put them straight into prison for a short spell. This would leave more money to spend on other things (I’ll get to that in a min). Thirdly, there has been various research papers (primarily in history articles or academic journals) that hav confirmed that there is a direct correlation between harsh living conditions within conviction walls and the amount of people sentenced to prison. Stalin’s prisons were extremely harsh, cruel and an awful place to be – however, his percentage of prisoners declined within a year of this law being passed…… dramatically!
