Sitemaps are a great way for a search engine spider to crawl all the pages of your website, and there are two different types to use. Google allows webmasters to create a Google Sitemap XML file to tell the Googlebot all the pages that are in your site. The other kind of sitemap is on your website and lists the pages of your site with links. If your website is very large, break up the sitemap into multiple categorized pages.
