What is a SiteKey?

0

A SiteKey is a “password” used by VeriAdmin, the V-Smart and the smart cards. Each of the three must use the same SiteKey to communicate and transfer information. All V-Smart units are shipped with the default SiteKey set to an empty string. When prompted for a SiteKey in VeriAdmin, simply select the OK button to provide the default SiteKey. Please refer to Appendices D and E of the VeriSeries Operations Manual v7.5 (Green LED) for more detailed information regarding the SiteKey and other V-Smart operation instructions. The SiteKey or “password” should not be altered until this section of the manual is reviewed. Please be aware that if the SiteKey is forgotten the V-Smart will have to be returned to Bioscrypt for reprogramming. Once reprogrammed the previously enrolled smart cards that contain this unknown SiteKey will no longer be usable.
