Civil Code 1375 is intended to create a process for an association to present its claims and test results regarding defects to the developer, which can then hire its own experts to verify those claims and test results. Thereafter, the parties meet and discuss ways of resolving the dispute. If settlement cannot be reached within certain specified time frames, the association may then file suit to seek recovery of the cost of making repairs.
