What is a shaker cleaned Baghouse?
A Baghouse is a type of environmental technology, or air pollution control equipment used in nearly every type industrial process. It is used to collect air-borne particles (dusts) or to capture harmful pollutants (soot, mercury, etc..) that are generated during an industrial process. This can include burning coal to generate electricity, or from kilns used to make cement.
It works like a large vacuum cleaner to pull dirty air through airducts to the baghouse where the dirty air is passed through a fabric filter, which removes the dust before the air is passed into the atmosphere.
In a Shaker Baghouse, the filters are attached at the top to a shaking mechanism, that periodically shakes the bags to remove built up dirt, thus keeping the bags from "blinding" or becoming clogged.
For more information about about the different types of Baghouses, see the article: The Encyclopedia of Dust Collection Systems.
