What is a Seventh Day Baptist Church?
A Seventh Day Baptist Church is a Bible-believing church that meets on Saturdays. Q: How is it different from other Baptist churches? A: Like other Baptists, we believe in salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, and that the Bible is the inspired word of God. However, we believe we should meet on the seventh day, Saturday, in obedience to Gods commandment to remember the Sabbath. Q: What is the Sabbath? A: The beginning of Genesis tells us that after God created the heavens and earth, He rested on the seventh day. Exodus 20:8 gives us number four of the Ten Commandments: “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.” Q: Why is it important to keep the Sabbath? A: I John 5:2 says, “By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep His commandments.” The fourth commandment is the only one that asks us to remember something, yet it is the most often forogtten one. We believe we should obey this one, just as we do the commandments not to murder or steal. Q
