What is a secure site or SSL certificate?
All credit card transactions using Authorize.net will require a secure site. But even if you do not require “real-time” processing, most sites that take credit card payment over the internet offer their customers a comfort level by acquiring a secured site with an SSL certificate. This certificate simply tells all visitors to your site that you are using the most sophisticated encryption methods to secure any transactions (email, orders, membership information, etc.) that occur at your site. We recommend a Thawte certificate for many good reasons.
