A sector is any part of a flight for which a separate flight coupon has been issued. For instance, a non-stop flight from London to Dubai would be one sector, while a flight from London to Singapore via Dubai would be two sectors. Some exceptions do exist where a flight makes a stop however passengers do not have to change aircraft. For example, a flight from Dubai to Sydney via Singapore has only one flight coupon and is considered to be only one sector.
