What is a Search Engine
A search engine is a tool to use to search for sites. Some popular search engines are Yahoo, Excite, Infoseek, and Lycos. There are many more. How you access them is to click on the Net Search button on Netscape and type in your “search string” (what you are looking for, i.e. Death Valley). The search engine will look though its own index to find matches for your search.
