What is a Search Engine Friendly domain name?
So often when I am advising a new client that would like a new web site and we start talking about domain names, I tell them to pick two: one that is people friendly and the other that is search engine friendly. Let’s go back to our fictitious web site – eatatjoes.com This domain name meets one of my criteria for a good domain name – the word “eat”. It tells me or my client what you can do; but, eat what? It is severely lacking in specifics. It leaves me wondering. A good domain name, especially a search engine friendly domain name should reflect “what you do” not “who you are”! Unless you are Emeril Agassi – but he is already famous so he can just advertise his name.
