What is a SAS Expander?

0

Simply put, it’s a device which allows a SAS initiator to address multiple SAS or SATA targets. JMR has developed our own BlueStor™ SAS Expander board which is a plug-in daughter board to our Storage Server, SAS JBOD and PeSAN™ RAID storage shelves, eliminating interconnecting cables in the data path to improve signal integrity and cooling air flow for the disk drives (by minimizing air flow obstacles).
