What is a SAP evaluation?
This evaluation includes a minimum of one face-to-face clinical assessment to determine the extent of the substance abuse problem, a referral from the SAP to an appropriate education and/or treatment program; and a face-to-face follow-up assessment to determine the employee’s participation and compliance with the initial recommendations and the education and/or treatment program. The SAP must also provide the employer with a follow-up drug and/or alcohol testing program; and provide the employer and the employee with recommendations for continuing education and/or treatment as appropriate.
