What is a Safety Vacuum Release System?
A Safety Vacuum Release System or SVRS is a safety device used to protect against the dangers of suction entrapment in swimming pools or spas. A pool filtration system can pull in hair or entrap a human body with up to 500lbs of force creating a substantial risk of drowning. A Safety Vacuum Release System is designed to prevent such entrapment. In the even that a swimmer became entrapment in a pool system equipped with a SVRS the SVRS system will sense the blockage and shut-off the pump breaking the suction and releasing the entrapped swimmer.
