What is a safe alternative to coke to prevent tooth decay?
THERE WAS A PROGRAM ON television recently that talked about drinks and tooth decay. It’s not just Coke that eats away the enamel on your teeth. It is the ascorbic acid and the acidity of the drink. Among the worst was soda, orange juice and other type drinks. Alternatives are water, non-carbonated drinks low in acid, milk, etc. When you DO drink Coke or orange juice, they recommend that you drink through a straw, thus bypassing your teeth, for the most part. Also, if you brush and rinse your mouth after an acidic drink, you will lessen the damage done.
