A. A board that is placed along the bottom of both sides of the fence touching the ground, in place of the pickets touching.(Pickets in this case are raised higher off the ground than normal but still hidden inside the Rot board). Used so it may touch the ground and be allowed to deteriorate and be replaced while the rest of the fence continues on in good condition. Raises the fence height from a couple of inches to 6″ or 8′ depending on the width of the Rot board used.
