The following questions and answers will help you decide if the interim control option is the best choice for you. What are interim controls? Interim controls are temporary measures that property owners can take to correct urgent lead hazards, especially peeling or chipping lead paint and lead dust. The purpose of interim control is to give property owners up to two years before they have to delead a home or apartment unit and come into full compliance with the Lead Law.
