Retractable harness belts have an inertia reel installed on the end of the third point. This allows the harness belt to retract like your stock seat belts. In a normal harness belt once you are buckled in you have little to no movement in your seat. The retractable harness belt allows you to still move in your harness belts but will lock under a sudden movement or jolt. The retractable harness also has a knob that allows you to turn the retractable option off. When in the off position, your retractable harness belt will lock allowing it to function as a normal harness belt.
