What is a retirement resort?
The dictionary defines a “resort” as “a place to which people go for rest, relaxation, recreation, aid, service and support.” Therefore, a “retirement resort” is “a place to which people retire for rest, relaxation, recreation, aid, service and support.” The Association of Retirement Resorts International (ARRI), a senior-advocacy group, characterizes retirement resorts as designed to enable seniors to enjoy a lifestyle full of recreational, educational, social, cultural and spiritual opportunities. They are ideal for seniors who want to enjoy an active lifestyle and who also want the additional security of available health care services. Bermuda Village is a designated member of ARRI.
