What is a Restricted Use Protein Product (RUPP)?
A Restricted Use Protein Product (RUPP) are mammalian protein products within the meaning of the federal rule (21 CFR ยง 589.2000) governing the feeding of certain prohibited mammalian proteins to ruminants. These include over 20 different animal protein products including ruminant meat and bone meal, meat meal, bone meal (from ruminants), and leather meal (from ruminants, among others.
