What is a Replicated Website?
Before the days when search engines penalized for sites that were identical to each other (duplicate content), someone came up with the bright idea of creating a website and selling it to many people, all of whom could load it onto a server and earn from AdSense. Search engines didn’t like that, since the sites were all the same. So they started penalizing for duplicate sites. This kind of site is no longer registerable – search engines won’t even index you, so your primary source of free traffic is shut off. Along about the same time, Distributorship companies started doing the same thing – automatically generating identical replicated sites for their distributors. A few still do that, but most simply use an affiliate program setup – you don’t really get your own site, you just get a tracking URL that takes your visitors to the primary company website where visitor activity is tracked by cookies.
