What is a reiki lineage, and is it really all that important?
A reiki lineage in some ways is important, and in other ways it is not. A reiki practitioner is simply that, a practitioner- regardless of their lineage. However, that said, unfortunately there are “practitioners” out there with “dead hands”. These are probably people who were attuned to or instructed in reiki inappropriately, and are sensing their own personal vibratory energy instead of channeling reiki. These individuals may even be channeling a different frequency of energy work. Regardless of who you take a class from or go into a session with, if Usui Reiki is what you want, then the teacher or practitioner should be able to trace their lineage all the way back to Dr. Usui in Japan.
