What is a registry?
All Windows operating systems use a registry file structure to store the settings and procedures for literally every function in your computer – from hardware to software as well as all applications, including settings and features. If the registry is corrupted through changes from software and hardware installations / removals, or is changed by a malicious program such as a trojan or a virus, your registry errors can and will cause system crashes.
