What is a reference number?
A reference number is any combination of letters and numbers up to 35 characters that you assign to a package when you ship it. This reference number could be a purchase order number, a customer’s job number, or a group of words that identifies that shipment — such as “10 widgets” or “gift for mom.
The Iranian government issues you a reference number once they decide that they want you in their country. You then use the reference number to pick up a visa. The tour agency will help you secure a reference number as part of the price of the tour. The shipper’s reference number is a unique identifier assigned to the shipment by the sender while filling out the shipment information. This can be any combination of letters and numbers, such as a purchase order number or any other information that allows you to manage your shipments. Use the Track by reference feature to view a group of shipments by their shared reference number. Note: The more specific and unique your reference number is, the quicker it will be for your results to be displayed.
