What is a reasonable relocation package?

This the time to begin looking at what the benefit package contains. One aspect of the benefit package is the prospective new employer’s relocation package. How are they going to get you from where you are now to where they need you? Relocation policies will vary from employer to employer. The basis for the extent of the policy is based in the culture of the employer. When we look at the concept of culture we tend to place employers in one of three categories. The first one is the employer with a “womb to tomb” philosophy. These employers are wiling to do anything for their employees. It is from this group that you will receive the greatest breath of benefits. The second group is that of “cost conscious.” These employers are willing to do just so much for their employees.
