What is a Radiologist and what does Board Certified mean?
A radiologist is your Doctor’s Doctor. He works to help your doctor determine specific information about your health. Radiologists are physicians who specialize in diagnosing disease by obtaining and interpreting a variety of medical images. These images can be obtained by using x rays, radioactive substances, sound waves, or other techniques. He completes four years of undergraduate Board certification can take several years of training and then includes completion of comprehensive written and oral examinations in that field. Specialty certifying boards were developed to maintain and improve the quality of medical care in the United States through the development of educational and professional standards for evaluating and certifying physicians. Board certification means that the physician has completed the requirements set forth by the specialty board.
