What is a quality point deficit?
If a student has a quality point deficit, this means that his or her grade point average is below a 2.0 or C average. Quality points for three-hour courses are assigned as follows: A= +6, B= +3, C=0, D= -3, F= -6. Example: If John has a -12 quality point deficit, to bring his gpa up to a 2.0, John will need to make two As or four Bs or any combination that will earn him 12 points.
