What is a Quality Assurance Manual?
A quality assurance manual is a document or set of documents that contain the full picture of the facility s quality assurance program. Upon adoption, registrants of any diagnostic medical x-ray equipment used in the healing arts will be required to develop and continuously implement a quality assurance program that includes a quality assurance program manual. The manual contains a description of policies and procedures such as: • • individuals responsible for carrying out the various tests and evaluating the test results; • the quality control tests and the frequencies with which they will be performed; • the acceptable range of values measured by the various quality control tests; • the corrective action plan describing the appropriate remedial actions used to bring the facility into the acceptable limits of the quality assurance program; • radiation safety and personnel protection policies; The quality assurance manual must be reviewed and updated annually.
