A PV, or policy violation, is simply a reprimand you get for doing something that is against deviantart policies. It can be anything from posting works you don’t have permission to, to ripping, to posting porn. You will get a note sent to you with a rough explanation of why your deviation might have been removed and you had been issues the PV. Posting a work in the wrong category can result in it being removed and a note being sent, that will however not result in you being issued a PV.
