What is a Program of Study (POS) and how and when do I get one?
Every master’s student must file a Program of Study (POS) with the Graduate School. The POS is a formal list of courses that the student intends to complete to fulfill the requirements of the degree. Full-time students must file their programs before the end of their second semester of graduate study, and part-time students must do so upon the completion of nine credit hours. Contact your department or major professor (advisor) to begin preparing or to update your POS. ‘Preparing a Master’s Program of Study’ on the Graduate School website provides instructions for filing a student’s program and for obtaining the proper approvals.
