What is a Proficiency environment?
The goal for every child in our school is to achieve at least a level of Proficiency. Proficiency is defined as having mastered each of the academic standards/anchors for the student’s specific grade level. If a student has not demonstrated proficiency of a standard/anchor, they may be encouraged to spend more time with their teacher on the standard/anchor, study the material further, or retake/rewrite/redo the assignments again. Recovery courses may be recommended for students not achieving proficiency.
