What is a Probationary Drivers License in Ohio?
A probationary driver license is issued to drivers 16 to 17 years old upon completion of a credited driving course and passage of the state of Ohio driving test. Probationary license holders under the age of 17 are not be permitted to operate a motor vehicle with more than one person who is not a family member in the vehicle, unless accompanied by the license holder’s parent, guardian, or legal custodian. Probationary driver license holders between 17 and 18 years of age are restricted from driving between the hours of 1:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m.
