What is a Private Duty Nurse?
If the care is requested to begin during the time immediately following delivery, the family will have me, a private duty nurse, in the same hospital room with the mother and baby. This allows the labor partner and/or family members to rest following the emotionally and physically overwhelming labor and delivery. Although there will be a nurse who is working for the hospital attending to you, they will also have up to five new mothers and newborns at a time, leaving you often feeling like you are alone with little help to care for yourself, much less the new baby. Immediately after birth, depending on the length of your delivery and the type of delivery you may have, (c-section, vaginal, complicated/uncomplicated) you most likely will have a mixed array of emotions; happiness/elation, disappointed/resentment. Most feel tired, sore, nauseous or hungry, scared, overwhelmed. As a private duty registered nurse, I will provide you with VIP treatment you and your family need and deserve. The
