What is a priority? Why can I change the priority of a Target Instance while it is running?
The priority of a Target Instance is used to tell the WCT Scheduler how important it is that the harvest be started at the correct time. The priority can be High, Normal or Low. In most cases, a Target Instance will be harvested at its scheduled time, but sometimes the queue gets congested and there are more Target Instances waiting to start (in the Queued state) than there are slots available to run harvests on the Harvest Agents. When this happens, the Scheduler chooses the next job to run based on its priority (in the case of ties, the one that has been Queued the longest is chosen). After a harvest has been started, the Priority of the Target Instance is no longer relevant, and cannot be edited.
